Affirmations are one of the most powerful tools in your toolbox to help you align with your goals. They are versatile and can be used for everything from building confidence to creating flourishing relationships.

Why are they so powerful?

They can make you an energetic match for your desires!! Words carry vibration and when you feel the positive energy of affirmations, you are raising your own vibration to match that of the affirmation. Overtime as you stay in this vibration, it shifts your energy to become a match for the very experiences that are in alignment with your affirmation. When your energy is aligned, synchronicity unfolds and it’s that much easier to take inspired actions towards your dreams.

It really can be this easy! At first the affirmation may feel foreign and you can feel out of place or silly, but with time you’ll begin to feel that very shift happening.

On the other hand if you have an energetic “block,” affirmations can actually have the opposite effect, making you feel worse and plugging you into lack.

Why does this happen?

When the affirmation is created, it’s meant to carry the feeling you want to achieve. If you feel “stuck” and no matter what the affirmation makes you feel worse,

Think of when people use the word “trigger.” When someone is triggered, they can subconsciously go into fight or flight mode. In the same way, when you use affirmations and you also have energetic blocks, the affirmation can trigger it. When this happens your energy field starts to vibrate at the same frequency as the blocked negative energy instead of your positive affirmation.

For example: You could create an affirmation to help you achieve a promotion, but if the last time you were promoted something bad happened, every time you feel into your affirmation you may feel the negative emotion from your past instead.

Even though this sounds alarming, this is actually great feedback because your internal guidance is letting you know there is a reason you are not matching up with your desire. Now you finally know what has been vibrationally between you and your goal and you have the power to shift it. Woohoo!

One of the ways you can do this is by continuing to feel into the positive affirmation anyway until your vibration shifts. Another method to relieve stagnant energy is breath work. Or you can simply choose to go to an energy healer. There are also books and tools to help you let go of emotional traumas such as journaling and meditation.

Tune in and listen to what your inner guidance is saying and follow it.
